For school, we've been studying about what makes us human. We recently finished reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstien and examined if the Creature is in fact human. So, we've looked into what makes us human from the religious standpoint to the scientific view.
The next asignment is to conduct interviews on people about this question.
I need your help. I'm gone put 10 questions up and I hope that many people will cooperate. I don't mind of this becomes a discussion, but those that wanna help me, I also need your full name. Yes, I'll have to cite you using the MLA format when I use your answers.
I will greatly appreciate it if you cooperate.
If you don't wanna post your answers here, then pm me. I just wanna get this asignment done. I'm only gona share them to people that don't know you.
NOTE: I will also be appreciated if the answers are as most detailed as they can be.
1. Do humans posses unique characteristics? Like what and why?
2. What are the similarities and differences between an animal and a human? Like what?
3. What gives humans a more superior role than animals?
4. Is there a difference between a soul and a spirit? Explain.
5. Who ultimately 'creates' clones? Why?
6. If human cloning came about, do they deserve the same rights as real human beings? Explain.
7. Can man ever rise to be the "Creator?" Elaborate
8. Is there a difference between a human doing a good thing and an animal doing a good thing? Why?
9. Are humans with animal transplants still humans? Explain.
10. When does life begin and when does it end?
Answers in the greatest detail will be appreciated. It would be great if some members could help me with the asignment. I will be happy to answer any questions if there are any to clear things up.
I also would like to remind everyone about the rules since this is a topic where many diverse and contradicting answers can happen.

1. Humans possess a rational intellect and a rational soul, with which comes the ability to properly judge between right and wrong and make moral choices.
2. Like animals, humans possess basic instincts for survival; unlike animals, humans alone possess a rational intellect and a rational soul, which makes them able to make moral choices.
3. Because mankind alone possesses a rational intellect and soul, they are unique and superior to animal and plant life.
4. The difference is not between a spirit and a soul, but between a material soul and an immaterial soul. Only humans possess an immaterial soul and are capable of enjoying the afterlife.
5. No one ultimately "creates" clones. Humans may create the body, but only God can greate the soul.
6. Human cloning is immoral, but if it did come about, clones would have human rights because of the fact that they are human and in possession of a rational soul and intellect.
7. No man can ever rise to the level of the Creator. Mankind's faculties are simply too far below God's that he can never achieve the same level. Man will always be a creature.
8. Animals cannot do a good deed because the lack the faculty of morality and rationality that human beings possess.
9. Humans with animal transplants are still human because of the fact that they still possess the rational soul and intellect that only human's possess.
10. Life begins at conception and ends at natural death.

1. Do humans posses unique characteristics? Yes. Like what and why? Souls,emotions. Animals may express "feelings",but it's not the same. No depth there.
2. What are the similarities and differences between an animal and a human? Similarities are all physical. Differences: Humans are not born with instincts,and can learn the difference between right and wrong.
3. What gives humans a more superior role than animals? God ordained Adam over the animals.
4. Is there a difference between a soul and a spirit? Yes. Explain. A soul is where all the emotions are contained. A spirit is where your personality and beliefs lie. Both are within the heart(not the organ)
5. Who ultimately 'creates' clones? Scientists. Why? I have no idea.
6. If human cloning came about, do they deserve the same rights as real human beings? I'd guess so. Explain. Everyone has the right to live--original or not. Though,I think a clone would lack personality.
7. Can man ever rise to be the "Creator?" Elaborate. No,humans are far too power hungry and flawed.
8. Is there a difference between a human doing a good thing and an animal doing a good thing? Yes. Why? animals do such things from instinctive natures. Humans do it from kindness of thier hearts.
9. Are humans with animal transplants still humans? Explain. A what? I've never heard of such a thing.
10. When does life begin and when does it end? Human life begins at conception and it ends....well...it never ends,in my opinion. The physical body,does die,yes. But I believe the soul/spirit live on.
